Transition from H&B2012 (Canadian) to Cash Mgr 2014

I'm using Quicken Home & Business 2012 (Canadian).

I've closed my business as of Dec. 31, 2013 and want to use Cash Manager 2014 (which I have paid for and downloaded) from now on.

Problem is, there doesn't seem to be any way to have both programs on my PC at the same time. I'm happy to migrate to Cash Mgr 2014 with fewer features as I go forward, but may still need access to historical data on H&B 2012 from time to time.

I've bought and paid for both programs.

So, how can I use both programs on the same PC?

Quicken Tamara is referring to the US version, but I would think the same applies to the Canadian version.

I would not personally run two versions (different years and especially editions) on the same computer. Due to some common files being used by both programs, it can get confusing.

For instance, the "last file used" is common, so if you go from using the newer version to using the older version, the older version will try to open the last file used which is a newer version file and fail. The opposite is true when going from older to newer, the newer will try to open the older file and in doing so, will convert it to the newer file format.

That is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many other things for you to stub your toe on.

If you still want to try, here is an article on how to do it with the US version, it may work for the Canadian:

    Thanks Splasher.

I've taken your advice and installed each program on separate computers. Very low risk tolerance with my business data.

Since that was an option, it sounds like a good one to take.
