Quicken 2015 for Mac so slow

edited March 2018 in
I just purchased quicken 2015 for Mac. I upgraded from essentials. However, I transferred the file (using the exporter & converter) from quicken 2010 for windows.

The transfer was fine but my software runs SOOO slow when I'm doing data entry. There is a several second lag for saving, moving between transactions, and searching. The whole thing is slow. What can I do?

Thanks.

Funny how Intuit doesn't respond to any of these. What took me 15 minutes to do is now taking over an hour. This is one of the lamest programs out, and for the first time I'll be changing to another platform. Unfortunately for them it means I won't be endorsing them to the many friends we help with their finances...

If you look at some other posts, they have responded. And they are reaching out to some users to gather data files as not all people are experiencing the slowness.

Depending on the "shape" of your data, restricting to show a shorter range of transactions (i.e. one year or 90 days versus, say 20 years) has improved performance for some users.

Tried that. Doesn't help one bit. Adding a transaction takes 10 sec. and reconciling a transaction takes 10 sec.  Programming a straight up LAME!

I didn't go online to check for results until after I reconciled an account, but I will echo what some others have said and it is HORRIBLE, plus there were things that did not work at all in the reconcile window. Clicking the box to mark a transaction cleared took about 10 seconds to respond (so reconciling took much longer than before). Entering transactions was equally painful. Also, when in reconcile mode and trying to add a transaction, the '+' key to get the next check number did not work (worked fine outside of reconcile). QE worked fine, and when I was on Windows I never had any problem, but this is pretty bad. I just opened QM and noticed there was an update. Hopefully this helps...

I believe you, and I know you are not alone. The thing is not everybody is seeing this, so that is what the devs have to figure out.

So, if somebody reaches out to you asking for your file, PLEASE provide it. There are many cases where people posts problems, but refuse to send data. Thus, the dev team really can't do anything.

jefekefe and jeff78jane, I'll be sending separate emails to both of you if you are willing to provide us with your original data file (e.g. Quicken Essentials or Quicken Windows, etc.) so we can further troubleshoot. We are currently investigating the performance issues and looking to address them in a future release. One thing that I've seen help alleviate the performance issues in the customer files that I've seen is to change your register filter from "All Dates" to "Last 12 Months". Hope that can help.

Update didn't do anything.  What a waste of time
