Any ideas how to manually enter dividend reinvestment transactions in Quicken 2015?

Any ideas how to manually enter dividend reinvestment transactions in Quicken 2015? I have tried using the Reinvest Dividend Type, but it does not appear to be working correctly. If I use the current date, it seems to work correctly. When I use a prior date it does not update the number of shares and shows that I need to add a cost basis.

Well, dnm14, this appears to be an out-and-out bug.

I've reproduced this using the latest Q2015/Mac release (2.0.4) with an imported Q2007/Mac datafile. Interestingly, the bug did not occur when I used a datafile built from scratch.

I'll add this to the list of 2.0.4 bugs I'm reporting to Intuit, to make sure it gets looked at.

    Thanks!

Same thing happening to me. I have reported this same bug to Intuit multiple times. It did work at one time with a previous version of the data converter. @qknmac - Things will work properly in a converted datafile, but only if you create a new investment account. I tried that and thought maybe if I could then copy in all the transactions from the converted/imported account it may just work going forward in the newly created account. But there is no way to copy all the transactions from one investment account to the other. I have reported this many times and no one else seemed to have the same problem, but now I can see it's just not me anymore.

Another thing to note in the bug report you file with Intuit: when I add the backdated entry to my mutual fund, an "Add Cost Basis" button appears for the negative amount of shares entered. When you try to enter a Guesstimate for the cost basis, you see "(as of (null))" and "for shares acquired before %@" in the form. As a Mac software developer, I know that these are signs that there's some invalid data there.

Also, this problem happens as soon as the transaction is backdated (in my case, this is necessary because I'm adding transactions that were not in my Quicken 2007 data at the time it was converted.) As soon as I set the transaction to the current date, the "Add Cost Basis" button goes away.
