Just so you all know, today I encountered the OL-290 Error while attempting to pay bills with Lion Compatible Qkn2007 and Qkn Bill Pay. My MacOS is NOT Mavericks or Yosemite, it's MacOS 10.8.5. I also discovered the Quicken Bill Pay online site is also down.
That's a pretty odd statement of the problem though. She writes, "Some Financial Institutions have recently made changes to their security certificates, which may cause Quicken Mac 2007 and earlier versions to give an OL-290 error when updating accounts." But the problem is not on the financial institution side according to the connection log--it's a server hosted by Intuit. Quicken is never even attempting to connect to the financial institution's site. This is all that appears in my log when I try to download transactions, no matter which institution it's from:
@stillone: Intuit shared a state several years ago that said that only 6% of Quicken users used the online bill pay feature. SO while Quicken 2015 may not be a viable option for the6%, it could be viable for the vast majority of users who don't rely on that feature.
@rapy46: "I called them yesterday. I have Quicken 2007 and Maverick - They strongly advised against Yosemite" I'm not sure who you actually called, because Intuit does not have ANY phone support anymore. I have not seen any announcement or communication from Intuit regarding Quicken 2007 and Yosemite.

Quicken works for me in most respects on Yosemite, with one cosmetic and one absolutely serious problem. The cosmetic problem--windows cannot be moved adjacent to the toolbar (they get "stuck" about 50 pixels away). The serious problem--I am getting OL-290 with ALL institutions when attempting to download transactions. In fact, I even get an OL-290 when I have used Web Connect to download a QFX file directly from my financial institution's site. The file actually is processed correctly and transactions are imported, but not until I have dismissed an OL-290 error dialogue.
I'm using Quicken 2007 on Mavericks with great success. I've never used bill pay, and I enter transactions manually rather than downloading from financial institutions. I do download security prices to update the value of my portfolio. Will I be OK if I install Yosemite?
I suppose I'll eventually buy Quicken 2015, but I'd prefer to wait until the bugs are worked out.

Quicken 2015 is a poor cousin of Quicken 2007. There is no way that I have found yet to track dividend payments and entering transactions is clumsier. Downloading transactions is better however. If downloading is still working for you I'd stay put. If you upgrade to Yosemite you will lose the ability to download transactions unless Intuit, in its infinite wisdom, decides to fix the flaw.
I don't believe for a minute that this issue is the banks' problem. A lot of people are having the SAME problem at the SAME time with MANY DIFFERENT banks with DIFFERENT versions of the Mac OS and DIFFERENT versions of Quicken (Q2007, Q2006, QW2013, and several others...just do a search for recent errors posted on this forum). You can see similar (related?) problems I just posted here: http://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/getting-ol-248-ol-226-error-messages-with-cibc-td-mbna
I think this is something with Intuit servers! Will someone at Intuit acknowledge this?
Since I upgraded to Yosemite I am unable to download transactions from AMEX, Citicards or Chase. Getting the OL-290 error. Any suggestions?

@smayer97: I don't think you're looking on the forum if you're asking Intuit to acknowledge it. There's a "pinned answer" at the top of the forum: "OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: OL-290 error in Quicken Mac 2007 and earlier". It's also on the right side as an Announcement: "NEW: OL-290 error in Quicken Mac 2007 and earlier". Intuit *has* acknowledged the problem which emerged over the weekend. They have said they are looking for solutions, and promised to post an update as soon as they have an answer. (That said, there is no guarantee they're be able to come up with a quick fix for the creaky old code in Quicken 2007.)
This thread is now closed because it has veered off the original topic of running Quicken 2007 under Yosemite -- which, aside from the OL-290 problem that has nothing to do with Yosemite, appears from most accounts to work with only some minor quirks.

@i99ijni: Read the notice Intuit released about the OL-290 error: https://qlc.intuit.com/announcements/1003948 It is not specific to the version of Mac OS on your computer.
