QMac2015 - Problem With "Price History Out Of Date" Button in Investments Portfolio

edited March 2018 in

There is a red button appearing in Investments Portfolio View under the subheading "Holdings By Type". When I hover over the button I am told that the "price history is out of date" and "push to update prices". However, when I select the red button nothing happens for a minute or so and then it disappears (presumably after it updates).

Is this delayed result normal?

    140 Securities took 54 seconds @ 9:04 PM EDT.

While this update was taking place, there was a progress bar in an overlay that dropped down from the title bar of the window.

Disclaimer: I did not wait until the red button was visible. The last update was about 25 minutes before. I did this test by clicking on the "Last updated ..." legend itself.

Didn't see the progress bar - I'll keep an eye out.  Also 98% of my investments are unlisted mutual funds which Quicken can't update; I wonder if Quicken spends time looking for securities it can't update - it shouldn't take a minute to download daily activity for one investment.

I just ran the price history update again at 11:34 AM EDT. Took about 5 seconds.

There are various reports on the Community (for different Quickens, including Windows versions) about the price servers being down, or slow.

I do have a few unlisted securities myself (had to assign dummy symbols to ensure they exported / converted when going from 2007 to 2015) but most securities have valid symbols.
