Copy, Cut, Paste not working in Quicken 2016.

I am well aware that this has been reported and "answered" in a previous post, but that response is insufficient.  The response was "we are aware it is an issue" is not a reoslution and therefore the issue should not be closed.

I am glad you are aware of it.  So, when will it be fixed?

Standard windows coimpatibility and function dictate that you allowf or the CTRL-C/V/X for copy/paste/cut to work.  I used this function a lot on v2013 as I do a lot of banking with split transactions.  Copy/Paste is a useful tool.

Now I realize I can go to Edit Menu and use the copy/paste from there.  But it is the keyboard shirtcut that is not working, and proves to be very cimbersome.

So far, buyers remorse.  $100 on a peice of software that looks no different than the version before, still wont direct connect to some financial (same) institutes and (now) I find out some basic key operations are not even supported.

... And, this issue needs to remain open till it is fixed.  Not just acknowledged that it is an issue.  Closing a defect report means it is fixed.  [6]

Thanks

Eliot

re: "direct connect to some financial (same) institutes".  That is ENTIRELY the decision of those FI's.  Blame them.  Q can't force them to make the changes to the FI's software that would enable Direct Connect.

Also, which Copy/Cut/Paste setting are you using in EDIT, Preferences, Setup?  There's the option for the Win keystrokes or for the original Q keystrokes (which, btw, pre-date the Win settings).

    Understood on the FI's.

As for Copy/Cut/Paste.  I have it set to the default (Windows standard).  I remember the Quicken keystrokes and recall that it does pre-date the Window standard.  Much like pulse dialing predates touch tone dialing on a phone, while still an option it is not the preferred/standard way to dial a number.  To be a 100% compatible/certified Windows application one needs to follow the defined standards. Quicken 2016 does not and there is an app that runs on windows, but is not a windows app.

Quicken 2013 was just fine and <ctrl>-c/v/x worked just fine in all areas, until I could no longer import QFX files due to the 3-year cap.  Still, with FI's not all on board, I have to do manual entries which is fine.  But at least adhere to the standards!

Anyway, I love(d) Quicken for better part of 20 years.  But this, along with the forced upgrade policy, may warrant a return and change in my affections.

I do thank you for your response, and the reminder of the non-standard Quicken keyboard shortcuts.  And my venting is not directed at you, but at Inuit.

Quicken is no longer owned by Intuit. What do you plan to use in place of Quicken to manage your finances?
