Allow sorting of all columns when reconciling (Check #, Amount, Payee, etc) (51 Votes +5 Merged)

I've been a quicken user for 10 years or more now and I've been waiting for simple features to be put back in that were taken out when reconciling an account.
- display deposits and debits seperatly as they are checked off. This aids to see where mistakes are and is important when you have a lot of deposits.
Be sure to click the little grey triangle under the VOTE count in the blue banner below, so your vote will count (it may take a moment for your vote to register).

- sort by check number while reconciling in the reconcile window. To do this now you have to leave the window and go to your main window and sort your entire account. Very awkward.
EDIT:
sort by ANY column - Check #, Amount, Date and Payee
while these are very simple things that were in quicken 2007 mac that were taken out that need to be put back in that i thought would have been put in a long time ago.

- NEW: Added payment and deposit columns in the Reconcile register.
- NEW: Added payment and deposit totals in the reconcile screen.
What is still missing is the sort by Check # (above) and sort by Payment or Deposit columns (see here: Add Option to Have Debits and Credits Tallied Separately- Where to find a Help Guide for Quicken for Mac?

I'd also like to see the ability to use the Space Bar to Clear an item and then advance to the next item. I used that all the time in Windows to clear items and move down my list.
The ability to do these 2 things made reconciling go so much faster.
I know you can sort by check number in the main window, but that doesn't filter out the checks that were written AFTER the period of time you are trying to clear or the cleared checks from previous periods. It doesn't seem like much, but it is unbelievably helpful when searching for a check that someone didn't cash for a few months or you have checks you have written from multiple check books.
Even version of quicken that were from more than 10 years ago had this. It really is an important feature where where only uncleared checks written before the end date of the statement you are clearing appear and sorting them in both date order (like you can now) AND check number.

Is there a way to sort that I do not see? All I see offered is ability to sort by date column. If not perhaps you can add this to your list of future enhancements.
I have changed this discussion to an Idea so that others can vote on this option to be included in a future version of Quicken. I have tried to replicate the issue and was unsuccessful.
Appreciate you reaching out to the Community regarding this issue.
Respectfully,

I hope this can be implemented.

But… you can't specify a secondary sort. That is, if you click on Deposit, it will sort all your unreconciled deposits in ascending or descending order by amount. You can't separate out the deposits first, and then sort them in date order. If you're reconciling an account with a modest number of transactions, this probably isn't a problem; if you have a very large number of transactions, you might prefer to sort by date and then only look at the transactions with values in the deposit or payment column.
