Convert PC MS Money Sunset files to Quicken for Mac.
I am currently using MS Money Sunset version on my iMac running on Win 7 under VMWare Fusion. I want to get away from using MS Money and want to move to Quicken for Mac. I live in Canada. I don't need access to my bank accts online. What are my options? Can I convert my PC MS Money files to Quicken for Mac? If yes, how do I do the conversion? Thank you for your assistance.

For the benefit of others also, bottom line is make sure you have MS Money Plus (2008), or Sunset version installed on your Windows VM. Update your MS Money data file to this version (open your data file once with this version), then import into Quicken for WIndows. Then install Quicken for Mac and convert QWin to QMac.
Steps:
1. Install MS Money Sunset in Windows. If you need MS Money Sunset, get it here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2118008
If running Windows 10, they will need to read and follow one of these to get MS Money Sunset to run:
http://www.thewindowsclub.com/use-microsoft-money-on-windows-10
http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/654.aspx (contains link for patch to perform Registry change for you instead of doing it manually).
2. Update your MS Money data to the Sunset format. Simply open your data file once with this version and close.
3. Install QWin and import MS Money data file into QWin.
If you do not have QWin, install QW2013 as a bridge version. You can get it from Quicken for FREE here: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-and-when-use-intermediate-version-convert-older-versions-quicken
4. Install QM017 and convert QW2013 to QM2017 (in-product conversion).

Thank you for the response. Recently my VMWare Fusion stopped working completely after I had updated to Mac OS Sierra. Prior to the MS Money was working very slowly as to make it inconvenient to use. I decided to purchase Parallels for Mac, and now MS Money is working very well. So I have decided to keep using MS Money Sunset. Again thanks for your response. I will pdf it and keep it for future reference should MS Money or Parallels stops working.
