Quicken 2016 R10 Issue: Large negative value in cost basis for stock add.

Added stock creates a very large negative cost basis number -9.2x10^7 . I have restored a backed up file and tried re-entering the transaction multiple ways and yes, it screws up the cost basis everytime. R10 strikes again. Please fix.

Not much to offer, I'm afraid. This seems to crop up on occasion for a very limited number of users for no reason I have been able to discern.

I have not reviewed in detail, but I suspect restoring a backup may still be the best option. You may need to go back farther. You might advise as to any changes recently made to Quicken or to OS setup.

This may not be caused by the latest transaction you entered being bad, but by an older one for the same security that "has gone bad". A single flipped bit in just the right place could be causing that.
Very carefully review older transactions and see if anything looks suspicious. If ot does, delete and reenter that transaction.

I'm assuming you have resolved any Placeholder transactions in that account.

I am currently using Quicken 2015 R12 and have just run into this situation. I rebalanced one of my mutual fund accounts that added a small transaction to one mutual fund. The book value went haywire into the -9*10 17th power. Any suggestions?

I have the same situation for a new stock purchase of Johnson Controls. I deleted the downloaded transaction and entered it manually but get the same result.
