The company for a stock I own has changed its name and when I download to Quicken it thinks I had a sale and the number of shares is wrong. I use Q 2015 Home and Business. isn't there a company name change command? Where is it. if not how do I account for company name change company name change

If you'll mention the specific company, we can provide specific advice on how to handle the changeover to the new company name, including tax consequences.

I doubt if there are tax consequences, and I don't know why you need the name, but it was Corrections company of America and is now Core Civic inc. I have read there exists a single.command to do this.

According to this info from the company, it is purely a name change and not a corporate action like a merger or a spinoff:

You can use the Corporate Acquisitions - Name Change transaction type to make this name change.

The same place you find all investment transaction types: the Enter transactions button in the respective account's transaction list. :
