No Case Sensitivity in Find and Replace

WorkswithnumbersWorkswithnumbers Member ✭✭
Running Q2017 H&B. In the find and replace window, you cannot replace a Payee with the same payee with caps lock on. This is important because case sensitivity creates two payees.

The basis for this is a payee called Pdq that needs to be changed to PDQ. This isn't possible under the current Find and Replace feature.

You can trick Edit / Find/Replace.
In the Replace Payee with [...] box type PDQ.  <--- type the new payee name with an extra character, then backspace erase the extra character so you end up with PDQ and select Replace all.

Change your Memorized Payee List. Delete all Pdq entries or change them as needed.
Check your Address Book and change it, too.

Thanks for confirming the solution. Happy editing! ;-)

Do be sure to create backups of your Quicken data file frequently as you go along making your edits with Find/Replace.
There's no UNDO button in Quicken that will let you get out of a hole created by a bad Replace other than Restoring your data file.
