What Q product and release level are you running?

Why can't you save a password to the vault?  What happens?  What type of password (there are multiple types in Q).

When I tried to sync to update account data it found not passwords. I tried to reenter them and they will not "stick" . Over and over again I tried just one. no luck. I verified the file and found not errors. I rebooted. nothing.

It shows the name of the accounts in the password vault...it just states "no" next to password. When you try to enter one it looks like its going to work. But when you immediately return to it "no" is still in the space.

I would try resetting your password vault: Tools > Password Vault > Reset Vault

Hi, Denise. I just wanted to mention that you posted "[email protected]" - is that one of youir passwords? Because if it is, it is probably not very secret anymore and you should probably change it right now.

My passwords won't stick either - I've updated my password vault - reset vault several times and still won't work.  having to re-enter my passwords manually every day is becoming a major pain

What version of Quicken are you using?

Q2017 Premier for Windows, R4.  Won't save passwords.  I reset Vault.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Quicken.  I add password and they switch from No to Yes.  I exit the vault password list and go immediately back in and they are all set to No.

During One-Step Updated, I enter passwords and click Save and none of them get saved.

    Try validating your data file:

First, make a copy of your data file. Use Quicken (File >
File Operations > Copy...), to make a copy of your data file. Quicken will do
some file cleanup whereas the Windows copy will make a bit-by-bit copy.

Then validate the copy of the data file you just made: File
    > File Operations > Validate and Repair... Make sure you check the Validate file checkbox.

2016 Deluxe: worked fine until January 28th: Upon clicking on OneSetp Update the sign on widget never returns, little wheel keeps spinning around. Have reset vault, have cleared cash and delete files, have validated data file; still cannot keep passwords beyond session in which I reset and update the vault.

Your data file may be too corrupted for the validate procedure to fix.

Your best bet at this point would be to contact Quicken Support (see the links at the bottom of the article).

Similar problem, let me see if I can explain it in better detail.

When attempting to save a password used for my Wells Fargo accounts and checking the "save password" box, it does not save it. If I attempt to add the password via Tools|Password vault|Add or edit password in the appropriate line for Wells Fargo the password is rejected with a message that "Wells Fargo could not use the password you entered". It only does this if the password contains a special character and in this case I used a "-" (hyphen). The password length is 9 characters in total. If I replace the hyphen with a alpha or digital character the password will save so it looks like the "rules" for allowed or disallowed characters is at fault.

The character is allowed for the transaction update if I enter it manually. I also check the "save" box and that character is allowed on the Wells Fargo site and the updated transaction do download. It just doesn't get saved to the list for the next update.

If I attempt to enter a password without any special characters for my Wells Fargo accounts it does save it via the Tools methods, then changinging it again with the hyphen it gets rejected.

I have spoken at length with customer support at Wells Fargo but will no solution  other then change my password to not contain any special characters but as that reduces security, that is not a real option.

How does one edit the "allowed characters" for a FI, in this case is Wells fargo?

Just got finished with a surprisingly good on-line chat with Quicken support of this issue that cleared the issue. The resolution had to do with refreshing of the wells fargo profile by performing steps under Tools|Online center

All is well again with Wells Fargo

Why do special characters work for one institution and not another?  I am trying to setup the auto updates and I have to save my passwords in the vault, it will take one institution but not another and they have the same password.  I have a Chase login and a Vanguard login.  The Vanguard login works fine and the Chase login in comes up and says "Quicken could not use this password"image
