In QM2017, you cannot delete categories that are in use as this would delete them from all transactions using them. If you have ones you no longer need, you can hide them instead.

    Hi Clayton,

I'm sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused. To help us provide the most appropriate response, please let us know which Quicken product (QWin or QMac) and what version (2016, 2017, etc.) you are using. Also, are you using the US version of Quicken or Quicken Canada?

    Thanks,
    Dave

I am using 2017. The problem I'm having is that I've added a new Category that I like, only Quicken will change it to the one he wrote. When doing a specific report, the report won't include both categories.

As stated by Q-Dave above, you need to state which version of Quicken you are using.  There are both Windows and Mac versions of Quicken 2017 and US and Canadian versions, so detailed answers differ between the two.

When you supply ALL the information as requested by Q-Dave, you just might get an answer.

I have the Windows version 2016 of Quicken and do not like deleting all the over 200 quiries on the community site. Why do you not have a delete key that is "quicker" than all this Q-David.
