In the X-Ray, how does one read the World Regions...particularly the proxy side?

In the X-Ray, how does one read the World Regions...particularly the proxy side? I'm unable to find anything in quicken or morningstar about this.

    The Stock column shows the % in each region for all the holdings you have selected.

    The non-US stock column looks just at the stocks in your selected holdings that Morningstar categorizes as non-US

    According to the bottom of the World Regions chart, the Proxy column represents the holdings of the  iShares MSCI EAFE Index, which is the ETF EFA. This is a market weighted index of non-US large cap stocks. It does not include Canada or South Korea.

    You can get a feel for what it is showing by selecting individual funds in your portfolio - an S&P 500 index fund will show almost 100% North America, while a broad international fund like VTIAX warns of overweight in Asia Developed and Asia Emerging due to its holdings in China and South Korea.

    Note also that the X-Ray only includes publicly traded securities, so if you have non-public funds in your 401k for example, they are not included in the analysis even if you have assigned them an asset allocation in Quicken.
