Need Quicken coach to help with budgeting. Open to virtual or in-person help in Denver area.
Hi Quicken Community
I would like to find a Quicken coach to help with budgeting. I am open to virtual or in-person tutoring. I am using Quicken 2017 for Mac. I have 14 months of historical data. I am in Boulder, CO.
Thanks,
Krista

• To have him or her help me create a budget based on my historical data.
• To help me evaluate how my new budget fits into my larger financial picture and goals.
• To get me to the place where I maintain a budget, it fits my needs and resources, I use it to keep me on track.
If welcome any Quicken financial advisor / coach recommendations.
Thank you!!!
I switched to Quicken Mac about 6 years ago from the Windows version. It was a big change, but I'm happy I did it.
Last year I committed myself to figuring out the budgeting feature. I think I have it all worked out (including the dreaded and well-known issue with how the budget doesn't include transfers). The only feature I don't use is the reminder of upcoming bills and the relatively new calendar feature.
Although not perfect, it's not bad. Quicken for Mac 2017 (I haven't taken the plunge into 2018 because of all the horrible things I'm hearing about it) will help you formulate your 2018 budget based upon last year's actual 2017 spending patterns. You may not stay within budget every month, but it's good to know where you are straying in order to adjust the following month.
If you wish to fit it into your long-term financial plan, Quicken will help you itemize your income, savings, living expenses, loan payments, and taxes. Each of these are the most important numbers to know accurately and to provide to your financial advisor who, if he/she has a half-decent financial planning program, can then design a long-term financial plan with these numbers, adjusting for inflation and your desired objectives/goals.
