Window size when not maximized

Sean CotterSean Cotter Member ✭✭
I just upgraded from Quicken 2015 to 2018.  I don't like running the program in a maximized window, so I un-maximized.  However, it switches to a small 750x480 window that appears in the top left corner of the screen.  I made attempts to move this to the center of the screen and make it a bit larger.  If I exit the program and re-launch it does not remember the adjustments I made to the window size and position from the previous session.  2015 did this without a problem.

    Hi @ Sean Cotter ,

    See this Article: https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/add-your-quicken-information-to-your-posts-plus-...

    You left out the R # as well as the operating system and the type of Computer. Laptop or Desktop and if Desktop, how is the Monitor connected to the Computer, via VGA Computer Cable or HDMI Cable.

    I suggest that you perform a clean uninstall, install and update.  If you haven’t already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/using-qcleanui-uninstall-quicken. To update Quicken, I recommend that you download and apply the Mondo Patch: https://www.quicken.com/support/patching-updates-windows

    The position and size of the main Quicken window is maintained within a user.config file associated with the current qw.exe located within the Quicken_Inc folder (previously, the Intuit_Inc folder) within the users hidden AppData\Local folder.

    I tried the above but it did not make any difference.

    It looks like for some reason the Quicken_Inc folder (and subfolders) is not getting created.  I see some Intuit_Inc folders from my previous install, but no Quicken_Inc folder.

    After installing this on a laptop and comparing the configurations I was able to get Quicken 2018 to display in a normal desktop PC window (running Win7) by modifying C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Quicken\config\quser.ini with the following settings

    [Window]
    State=Normal
    Width=1350
    Height=900
    Left=150
    Top=75

    While this works to my satisfaction for now, I still can not alter size or position of the window and have the next session remember it.  Something is still not right, but I can live with it...

    OK, not sure what I did or what happened, but after spending a half hour getting window attributes to my liking through trial and error, everything is working as would expect now.  I can now re-size and re-position the window and the next session remembers it.

    Thanks for your prompt attention in this matter, I'm all set for now, but if you want any additional info regarding this from me, let me know.
