One Step Update - blank dialog box

MintUserNewMintUserNew Member ✭✭
I choose One Step Update. After entering password, I just get a blank dialog box that completely freezes the application and I have to force it down. Other times been luckier and it gives me an error like OL-294-A a few times, and then it goes through and downloads the One Step Update. Using Quicken 2016.

    Hello MintUserNew, appreciate your question.

Which version and release of Quicken you are using. You must be on the latest release (patch) level for your supported Quicken version. If you're missing patches, update your software first.
Click Help / About Quicken (Mac: Quicken / About Quicken) to determine year/version and release.

Please let us know so that we can best help you.

    Hello MintUserNew,

Thank you for posting back and letting us know which release the Quicken software is on.  May I ask, when did this issue first start happening?  Were any Windows updates installed prior to the One Step Update Settings window becoming blank?

Does an update complete if you go to an account register and select "Update Now" from the account actions gearwheel in the upper right corner?

Just to explain better, when I do a one step update, I get the error code twice. Then it downloads completely. I was able to Update Now to an account as you mentioned. If I One Step Update again, then I get first the error code, then a blank dialog, and then the whole system freezes. I should note that all my accounts downloaded successfully. I'd say this problem started in the last month, but don't remember when and not sure if associated with a windows update as there are too many to keep track of.

If you have online Bill Pay activated for any of your accounts, that may be contributing to the error.

Yes, everytime I do a OneStep update. I get two dialog boxes with that error, then it downloads. And if I try to do a OneStep update again, it gets the dialog box that is blank and I have to force Quicken down.

    Hello MintUserNew,

Can we try making a New Quicken File and adding your accounts so we can see if the issue persists in a new environment?

Please let us know so that we can best help you.
