QuickPeterQuickPeter Member ✭✭
Can someone remind me please how to temporarily back-out of the Reconciliation screen to the account register your'e working on?

I can't believe I've forgotten how to do this :-(

Thanks,  QuickPeter

Just click the register window if it's showing behind the reconcile window. If it's not showing, menu Window > [filename] or Command-1 on the keyboard.

Does double-clicking a transaction in the Recon window take you to the register entry like QM2007?

Alternatively, simply close the reconcile window.

No, the recon window is a register so there is no need to go back. Double clicking opens the transaction to edit.

That was gonna be my first answer, but then I figured he was asking because he wanted to edit a transaction and then return to the reconcile in progress. But as you point out above, you can just double click the transaction and edit it right there. However, I can see wanting to go back to the register to search for a similar or previous transaction and then return to the reconcile in progress.

That works for modifying that transaction...but as RickO points out below, there are sometimes reasons to go to the register to do research while performing a recon without disturbing the recon contents...

No biggy since there are alternate ways to get there...

smayer97, John in NC beat me to it this morning (UK Tues @ 08:30)

"No, the recon window is a register so there is no need to go back. Double clicking opens the transaction to edit."

That's exactly what I found when I tried it just now

It's useful to know that you can double click a transaction to edit it though.
I think I'll be using that technique a lot from now on.   Thanks.

John in NC, I've just seen your "Alternatively, simply close the reconcile window."

I think that's really useful and I might be using this in future as its quite intuitive.
    Thanks.
