Agree also with above! I too am a long time Quicken user, since 1991, but recently have become really frustrated with the software and the support to fix it. Especially the Bill Reminder issue. Up until the last 6 months things were fairly good but since have really gone downhill! Just his week, I have had duplicate entries in my check register which really creates havoc on the checking balance and trust I have enjoyed over the years with Quicken. Therefore, I am truly looking for a Quicken alternative as it seems this software will never get fixed...really disappointed!

I too have been a long time Quicken user and just switched over to 20108 about 4 months ago. Find this frustrating. Once they have your money.....who caresa is the way it seems!
This issue has been open/known about for 4+ months now with no resolution in sight.
Could Quicken please provide an official statement including current status and ETA on resolution?
I too have been a long time Quicken user and just switched over to 2018 about 4 months ago. Find this frustrating. Once they have your money.....who cares is the way it seems!
I am using Quicken 2018 Version R9.34. For some time now when I pay a bill using a Quicken-printed check, the bill reminder will not go away. I have to click on Ignore to get this months reminder to go away and not come back until next month.
Yes, this is still broken in 27.1.9.33. Just today, I entered a reminder, it appeared fine in the register, but it remains as a "due" reminder. It did not cycle to the next scheduled reminder. I had to "ignore" the current instance to get it to move ahead.
I am in the same boat. I am past the release where this was supposed to be fixed. All the time I'm spending dealing with bugs I'm thinking I could do this myself with an Excel spreadsheet easier than dealing with Quicken.
Just upgraded to 9.34 and confirmed did not fix things, even after doing a file validation where it the log said "fixed 3 scheduled transactions"..(was hopeful). However, @Quicken Sarah, I did notice 2 things I had not noticed before that might help in debugging...
1) Referring to these tabs: I noticed that the monthly scheduled transaction I entered (prior to One Step Update) completely disappeared from the All Bills & Deposits tab, whereas previously (when all was working right) the entry would remain and to the left of it would say To Send instead of Scheduled.
Then after One Step Update, previously (when all was working right) the entries would refresh and that monthly entry would shift down to it's next scheduled position (or be replaced). Now after One Step Update the original scheduled entry just re-appeared as scheduled again.
I bet if you figure out why it disappeared you may find out why it is not advancing.
2) When all was working well previously, sometimes I would enter a scheduled transaction by typing it into the register and letting the memorized transaction auto fill then edit the amount. When I would hit enter or save, Quicken would recognize it and do a pop-up message of something like "is this entry the same as the scheduled entry for date _____?" When I would say yes, then Quicken would update the scheduled transaction appropriately.
I just realized that about the same time as the scheduled transactions quit advancing, it seems that Quicken quit checking or could no longer identify that something entered in the register is the same as the scheduled transaction, so I no longer get that message.
That seems consistent with the overall issue of Quicken not recognizing the Paid entry in the register so it does not advance the scheduled entry to the next period.
Might there be something that is getting appended or removed from the register entry such that the records don't match in the digital world but look the same to us?
I know how hard you are all working to solve this, so I just hope in some way this might help.
Thanks, Matt
In addition, I've had instances where it will say "is this the same entry as ..." with a very old date. When I say no, my entry into the register is deleted. I have to re-enter it. I'm getting extremely frustrated with the time I spend trying to make Quicken work.
Still not quite right but they have addressed several Biller problems
PS: I have found it best to start over with Linked reminders by removing Billers and deleting and recreating any previously Linked Reminders
Well just lovely. I updated with the mondo patch and now Quicken won't even open. I waited 10 minutes and it just hogs memory and cpu and Windows says it is not responding. I've rebooted, tried opening with safe mode and nothing works. I feel sorry for the support rep who gets my call Monday morning because it isn't going to be pretty.

So I decided to completely remove Quicken using the clean tool. Rebooted and installed my original Quicken download from March. Launched quick and despite a supposedly clean uninstall, it still new where my data file was located. It opened it just fine. I then applied the 10.10 patch and I'm back to square one. It just hangs and taxes my CPU and memory.

"Thank you for contacting our Office of the President to share these known issues with us. As mentioned in the articles which you provided, the problems have been reported to our Development Team. Thank you for your patience while we work to fix and improve the product.
This is crazy. I work for a SW company and we would have all been fired for this.
I can no longer rely on Quicken and both mine and my wife’s credit scores have been seriously affected by thei due to missing payments to creditors.
I wat to know how to go back to the previous version where everything worked.
Quicken crashes, hangs or loops at startup?
Please try this:
With Quicken closed, use Windows File Explorer to locate and rename your current Quicken data file, e.g., from Qdata.QDF to QdataX.QDF
Having done that start Quicken as usual.
If Quicken cannot find your current data file during startup it should just simply load the program and give you either a nearly blank menu screen or one that has options to start as new user, restore from backup, etc.
If you get to this point without Quicken crashing
click on File in the Menu bar. Select the Validate function. Select the renamed Quicken data file and see if Quicken can access and repair it.
If the data file is beyond repair, try to restore your data file from the most recent Manual or Automatic backup.
When done, reboot your computer and then reinstall Quicken from your CD or saved downloaded installation file and allow it to update to the latest available patch release level.

The notes are not complete but there are several entries related to Bills and Billers
Fixed: An issue where some bills with the Ignored status were not displayed on the Bills dashboard. Fixed: An issue where the Default Date setting for bills was saved incorrectly. Fixed: An issue with linking Bill Reminders to Billers.

Is the issue where the next bill date is skipping months at the end of the one step update fixed? What does this mean "An issue with linking Bill Reminders to Billers."?

PS: I have found it best to start over with Linked reminders by removing Billers and deleting and recreating any previously Linked Reminders
In my opinion, there are still several problems with Online Billers and linked reminders.
However, every situation is a little different and they have been making changes toward fixing it.
I am not sure about your specific situation but I would suggest trying it since this will most likely be the released version for about a month anyway.
Still not quite right but they have addressed several Biller problems
PS: I have found it best to start over with Linked reminders by removing Billers and deleting and recreating any previously Linked Reminders
What is the specific situation that the update fixed in this regard? One sets a reminder to pay a biller. Those reminders are skipping forward when paid. So if I pay June the reminder is correct and set to July. BUT, the minute I do the one step update, it skips forward to August. What other biller/reminder issue is there?
Still not quite right but they have addressed several Biller problems
PS: I have found it best to start over with Linked reminders by removing Billers and deleting and recreating any previously Linked Reminders
There are many things going on with Linked reminders and some are unfortunately, still NOT fixed.
I do not see the same problem you are having BUT I do see that IF I try to mark a Bill as paid or Ingnore this one in Bills and Income Tab, that is NOT working correctly and results in different dates in the Biller Tab and The Linked Reminder making it useless.
There was a problem that caused auto-enter on reminders but that seems fixed.
There are several other random problems such as Ignore this Bill only works sometimes depending on the state of the linkage between the Online Biller and the Linked reminder.
I have a few that work fine but mostly for me, they get out of SYNC and then start getting unexpected date changes making this "feature" unusable IMO.
I am just avoiding using Online Billers with linked reminders as it is not dependable at all.

PS: I have found it best to start over with Linked reminders by removing Billers and deleting and recreating any previously Linked Reminders
I am many versions of 2018 behind and with reason. Everything works for me and I dont have any of the Billpay issues reported EXCEPT: That the next due date on reminders that are entered into the register skips ahead a month only once the bill is actually transmitted by One Step Update. Initially the next due date is correct. Its the processing of the OSU that causes the dates to move ahead again. HUGE problem because people are forgetting to make payments since they rely on Quicken to accurately tell them what to pay and when. I am hesitant to update my Quicken because I have avoided the other issues. Sadly, there are folks on this thread who have reported the same issue. I will have to wait for one of them to test and report that the skipping is fixed. If this problem is not clearly understood by Quicken, then please provide them with the information. This thread is quite long, and I am concerned they are simply ignoring it at this point.
@Quicken Sarah - I updated with the mondo patch to 10.10 and there was a difference but did not solve the issue. Entered a monthly transaction via Reminders and the reminder screen showed both the "To Send" transaction and the incremented "Upcoming" for the next month until I did the One Step Update. After that, the next month "Upcoming" reverted back to the current due date. So still seems like something during the OneStepUpdate is modifying the entry in the register so that it is not recognized as being the same as the Reminder transaction.
Also note, I see that some commenters are relating this issue to "Linked Billers". I can assure you that this issue is not directly related to that as I do not, nor have I ever had any Linked Billers.
Although the recent updates seem to have helped, but not fully resolved the issue, I have noticed a couple other problems.
First, on some of my linked bills, the next "estimated" bill (from my monthly reminder) is a month later than when it should be. So my Visa bill, due the 19th of every month and estimated at $2000 a month, has the correct amount due for June 19th, but in projected balances, does not reappear until 8/19. When that bill is paid next week I will be curious to see if it will show the next one due 7/19. Regardless, the projected balances is inaccurate at this moment in time. For me, projected balances are critical to my money management processes.
Second, once a reminder is linked to a biller, I see no way to go and edit that monthly estimate. All non linked bills have an option to "edit this instance and all future instances" but that option is missing from linked billers. So how do I handle the issue when my cable bill goes from $150 a month to $200 a month? My initial instinct would be to dump Comcast but my wife won't have that. So how in Quicken do I update the monthly estimate?
Third, in Calendar view, it shows my balance for all account. If I go into Full Calendar and then Option/Select Calendar accounts, it shows only one account checked. I click OK and the calendar correctly reflects the balance I'm interested. But every time I restart Quicken, the balance view goes back to all account. And I noticed that related to issue #1 above, even though the Calendar view balance reflects the 8/19 estimated payment, there is no actual entry in the calendar. The balance goes from ~$8000 on the 18th to $6000 on the 19th with no payment to Visa for $2000 listed.
This is incredibly frustrating and I regret now having paid for a 2 year subscription.

Since your Bill is linked to a reminder, you should be able to go to "Manage Manual Bills and Income". (I see it in the upper right hand corner in the "Bills and Income" Tab, in my app). That should bring up your entire list. Then click on the appropriate reminder entry to edit the amount you want to show up as an estimate.

I have also done the update to 10.10 and I see no change. Arrgghh! Can someone please tell us when this will be fixed? Maybe you should revert back to a previous release that works, then move forward from there.
Another week has passed since I posted asking Quicken for a status update on this. This issue has been open since 2/26 (4+ months ago) and there has been no update from Quicken provided for quite some time.
Can Quicken please provide a status of this issue including what is actively being done to resolve and ETA on when a fix (that will actually fix the problems) will be released?
FWIW, and update to share... I had a very good, interactive session with a Quicken Quality Engineer and Developer the other day. I believe it was very helpful for them to see, first hand and unvarnished, some of the issues at hand.
So, Quicken is actively working on these issues. There are obviously "ghosts in the machine" to address. No less frustrating, I know.
We walked through the payment process for 2 manual bills, both with R9.34 and R10.10. Here is what we all saw and took away:
Demonstrated R10.10 continues to have issues with bills and income feature.
Demonstrated an issue when a bill is paid, the bill disappears from the stack view, but does not reappear when the "include paid" checkbox is marked.
Demonstrated an issue when a bill is paid, the bill does not disappear from the stack view, nor does it appear as "paid". Again, the "include paid" checkbox does not function as expected.
Demonstrated an issue when a bill is paid and a date set in the "enter expense transaction" dialog, the date set changes to a different date in both the register view and when doing an OSU. IMO, a high priority issue as this could cause overdrafts to the checking account, causing bank and vendor fees to the end user.
Demonstrated an issue in "bill history" table where the date and amount of a bill does NOT match what was entered and sent. Unknown as to where "bill history" is picking up this data.
We will schedule a followup testing session in the next weeks when updates are made available.

include the issue with reminder next payment dates moving forward an additional month after OSU completes?
For example, I enter a payment for Comcast on 7/27 using a reminder. The payment transaction is recorded properly in the register. I look at the reminders and see that 8/27 is the next payment after the current one. I do a OSU and the payment is registered properly. I immediately go back to the reminder and find that the next payment date is now 9/27.
BTW...anyone else seeing this issue? Perhaps its been fixed but I wont upgrade because its the only issue I have with my early 2018 version.
