Why must a check be non-zero?

I use Quicken Starter 2018 v5.6.5, on a Macintosh with System v10.13.5 (High Sierra).  But there is something that I consider Bogus!  :-(

I want to Print a voided check.  Customarily, I set the amount of the check to Zero.

But I learnt today that Quicken as well-as Refuses to print a check with a Zero amount.  When I try, Quicken says, "Some checks cannot be printed because they have non-negative amounts."

What can I do, please?  Need I wait on Quicken, Inc. to fix this on a future release of Quicken, or what?  Thank you.

I see the same thing. Probably a situation they did not anticipate. I suggest you use menu Help > Report a Problem to submit this to the dev team.

When you need to present a "voided" check, you handwrite "VOID" in big letters across the face of the check in a permanent ink/marker.

This is the first time I have hear of printing a check with a zero amount. Even if you could, I still would write VOID across the face.

Or create a payment for any positive amount in Quicken, print the check, write "Void" on it, and void the transaction in Quicken.

Bob, I'm not sure why you want to print a zero dollar voided check; is this a one-time thing or some recurring thing? Hopefully my suggestion or John's is sufficient for you. Otherwise, perhaps if you explained why this is a need, it would be clearer to us.
