As it is presently, if a transfer transaction is categorized, then it is listed in the "Other Transactions" section of the report, but is not listed in the Money In/Money Out section. This means that the total for a category that includes transfer transactions is missing those amounts.
At the very least, choosing to not include transfer transactions on the report should result in those transactions being included in the Money In/Money Out section.

And include transfers!
Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Suggestion for Quicken Mac: Check numbers included in Cat. reports.
I saw several posts on this for QM17 but nothing for QM18, so I figured I'd start it
Additionally, I'm not sure that re-hashing why Quicken Mac users need this functionality is necessary. The product manager has acknowledged that they know this is often-requested functionality, but that implementing it requires some architectural changes they haven't yet completed. If you haven't done so previously, you could add your vote for this functionality by going to this link and clicking the blue Vote button at the upper right. (You may also find useful links in that thread, particularly this one, to some workarounds other users have been doing, while waiting for the developers to fully build out this capability.)

Many of us have three things: one or more credit cards, a 401(k) plan, and a term loan, such as a mortgage or fixed-term student loan. Every month I make a payment on my mortgage, the balance I owe declines a little bit, which represents an effective saving. Every paycheck I receive that contains a deduction for a transfer to my 401(k) plan also represents an effective saving.
HOWEVER, it's quite easy to be saving money into a mortgage and a 401(k) plan, while at the same time slowly running up a credit card balance -- which is a bad financial move, but a hard one to track. I had created a report of all "forced savings," such as the examples listed in the previous paragraph. When my total savings were greater than my forced savings, then I know that I was paying down credit cards, rather than running up the balances.
This Idea has been updated to "Implemented"
The ability to include or exclude transfer can be located by customizing the report and selecting the "Advanced" tab.
Thank you for all of your votes!
