Expanding split transactions (126 Legacy Votes)
I miss the feature of Q2007 where I actually had the option of toggling the function where split transactions are expanded to show all the splits. I would rather be able to turn that feature off, as I use splits a lot and their default expansion in the current version takes up a lot of screen real estate and degrades the user experience.

I have some additional questions. Would you need to be able to toggle it on and off quickly or could it be in Preferences. Also, how was it done in 2007? Did you like the way it was done in 2007?
I like the way it was done in QM2007...separate preference for auto control for when you click on a transaction and when you click on another. Also with ability to open/close split with single-click on demand, with keyboard equivalent.
Also on reports...should have option to show/hide splits, like QM2007 and QWin.

We still do not have the ability to keep splits collapsed in reports and export to CSV of register transactions. This is greatly needed.
As now implemented, if you turn off these options, then double click opens the split and single click does not, as you suggest.

What has yet to be implemented is the following (as noted above here):
- option to allow Automatically Closing Splits when you click out of a split transaction, like in QM2007
- keyboard shortcuts to both open of close a split
- Also on reports...should have option to show/hide splits, like QM2007 and QWin. .
If you have not, be sure to click VOTE at the top of this page to have the rest of this feature implemented. YOUR VOTES matter!(If you find this reply helpful, please be sure to click "Like", so others will know, thanks.)

And for the second bullet point, these already exist. Common-Option-S opens a split, and you can close it with the standard Mac Command-period or Escape.
The last bullet point likely belongs in one of the idea threads on reports.
