I tried using SLV, but it's an ETF and pricing is that close to the real thing.

Do you know the symbol for tracking the spot price of silver?

Thanks!

If you're talking about tracking /SI (the futures contract) Quicken does not pull quotes for futures contracts.

I don't know if there is a ticker you can access from Quicken or have personal experience with this, but the ETF price should track the spot price quite closely (minus fees) thus giving you a good estimate of the market value.

For example if the ETF is at $14.42 and an ounce of silver is $15.46 and you hold 100 oz of silver bars, you could tell Quicken you have 15.46/14.42 * 100 or 107.2 shares of SLV. You would have to adjust your holding occasionally by adding phantom shares as the fees gradually reduce the price of the ETF.
