Saved reports Font and column Sizing

Updated to Subscription Version; it shows Q2019.....

My Converted Data File from 2017 has several My Saved Reports.  This seems silly...but...is this something changed in this newest version of Quicken that has in my opinion, taken the software "Backwards".

When I open a Saved report it never shows the Complete date....as as example, it shows 1/1....
I can slide the column bar to the right and expand the Date Column and see the entire date 1/1/2019.  I have tried to resize columns, remove columns...resave report...nothing with these adjustments when I reopened report made any difference....1/1...would always display.

I then clicked on Visual and Font settings Icon...it was set to the default, the middle of the ONLY 3 choices.  I clicked the smallest Font...the Report than Opened and the entire Date showed properly...1/1/2019.

Problem; the Small Font in my Reports are SOOOO small for me it is hard on my eyes.  My choices are to use the center Font size and see only 1/1...or use the smallest Font size, see the complete date but strain to see the text?  Have I overlooked something?

This has been an ongoing complaint I have had with Quicken....it has very limited personalization especially when it comes to Font\text Size.

    Hello denmarfl,

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue to the Community although I apologize that you have not yet received a response.

There was an old bug with reports where the column sizing/placement was not retained and the report had to be re-customized each time it was opened.  This bug was fixed a few releases ago but that fix had an unintended side effect with older, saved reports and is causing various issues with the report column sizing (https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/known-issue-saved-report-shows-data-as-incorrect...).

While the referenced issue isn't exactly the same as the behavior you are reporting, it is similar enough that

Our Product Teams are currently investigating this behavior but in the meantime, a workaround of opening the Customize Report window and selecting to reset to default columns has corrected many errors/issues in the saved reports.

While the referenced issue isn't exactly the same as the behavior you are reporting, it is similar enough that I would recommend resetting the report columns to see what, if any, effect that has on the Date column and Font size.

Please let us know how it goes, thank you.

Thank You.....Reset columns did not resolve my issue.....in fact, when I open CUSTOMIZE...I cannot resize that window and the Customize Window is not even displaying fully, look like I am not seeing about 20% of the right side of this window.  I don't recall either one of this issues when I was running Q2017.  I do feel this new Subscription version is not at all any improvement over 2017 and prior, if anything, I am encountering more issues as described here.......

Font size problems? Display issues? (Windows)

    Please try this:

    1. Close Quicken !!! (This
process won't work while Quicken is running!)
    1. Check the Compatibility tab
settings in your Quicken Desktop program icon:
    • In the Windows Start Menu
right-click the Quicken icon. Select "Open File Location". This
brings up a Windows File Explorer window. Right-click the highlighted
      Quicken shortcut line item.

      or
    • Go to the traditional Windows
Desktop and right-click the Quicken program icon.
    1. Now click Properties.
    1. Select the Compatibility tab.
    1. Uncheck all settings.
    2. Windows 7, 8.1: Check
"Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".

      Windows 10:  Check
"Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" and
      select "Application"
(also try the other available options)
    1. Be sure to uncheck the
"Run this program in compatibility mode for [older Windows
      version]" setting.
    1. Click the "Change
      settings for all users" button.
    1. Click Apply and exit.
    1. Now start Quicken and see if
      that makes a difference.

    Some additional
    tuning suggestions:

Unless absolutely required, try not to use "View / Use large
    fonts"

Try setting the bank account registers to use a different font style or size:
in Edit / Preferences / Register click the Fonts button and try different
    fonts.

Try adjusting the bank account registers' row height: in Edit / Preferences /
Register choose among the available Row Height choices: Compact, Comfortable or
    Standard

If all else fails, try changing Windows Control Panel / Display options for
"Make text and other items ... smaller or larger" to use a different
    scaling level.

  • I am using Quicken for Mac Version 5.10.1 (Build 510.25438.100), and do not see any choice for adjusting report font size and/or column width. This is very annoying, as I am getting reports that are twice as long as necessary because it insists on taking up two lines per transaction. Please make it possible for us to adjust report font sizes and/or column widths in future updates for Quicken for Mac. Thank you.
