Printing a partial page of checks - Quicken for Mac 2019

Marian HillMarian Hill Member
My printer, Ricoh Ap410N, will only let me print a partial page in landscape mode. I can change the print dialogue in Quicken to accommodate that, but the alignment is completely off, and when I try to change the alignment, it seems to change it for a full, portrait page as well. So I feel like I need to print a test page every time I print checks

I can only speak for the Windows version of Quicken, but setup should be similar on the Mac side.
Partial page printing in Windows allows you to choose how to align a partial page sideways, left or centered or in normal orientation.

When actually selecting to print a check, there should be a selection for "partial page has 1 or 2 checks left on sheet".
You may need to change the paper guides in the input tray to touch and support the partial page so it feeds properly, and always in the same position.

    If you can't resolve
the page issue, you can use form leaders to feed your printer with a proper
8.5x11 sheet while printing a partial 1- or 2-checks page in normal portrait orientation.
    See https://intuitmarket.intuit.com/fsg/businesschecks/formleaders.aspx
for an example of form leaders. Check your local office supply store, search on
the Internet or order from Intuit.

    My 2cents'
    worth:

I use Voucher checks (1 business size check + 2 stubs on an 8.5x11 sheet). My
printers do not have a manual feed tray that can be reconfigured for partial
pages (1 or 2 checks left from a 3-checks-per-page sheet), so for my occasional
check printing needs voucher checks are easiest to use.

When considering your own check stock to use, consider how easy or difficult it
is to feed odd-size partial pages into your printer when making a purchase
decision for a new supply of checks.

The previous note is good.  I have not had that kind of trouble with the Mac version.  I prefer the Windows version as the Mac one has a lot of problems.

Thanks. The problem is that, unlike the Quicken 2007 I was using before, you seemingly can't save different alignment adjustment setting for partial and and full pages. And that's what is needed. I also like Quicken better on the PC, but in general I like Macs better than PCs.

Then you will need to create an IDEA post here to request that it be possible to save multiple alignment settings for printing cheques.

In that case I suggest you try the Forms Leaders. You should be able to feed your short page of checks attached to a form leader properly in portrait orientation.
Worst case: Switch to Voucher Checks ... always a full 8.5*11 sheet.

It would definitely be the worst case to switch to voucher checks!! I may try forms leaders and see if that's harder than just changing the alignment all the time.

It's a shame that they have lost so many of the features that were in 2007 (and earlier versions, I've used it since 1988!!)
