same as reported here -
https://getsatisfaction.com/quickencommunity/topics/category-drop-down-box-goes-off-the-screen
when attempting to enter a Category for a transaction in the Register,
as you type, and it wants to auto-complete - the Category Box is off the top of the screen...
-------------
BTW - how much time is alloted here on the forum for the EDIT/REMOVE functions ?

EDIT:
You should also state what your resolution of you screen is set to, and what Windows scaling you might set (125% for instance).
1280 x 800 - 100%
none of which should matter, as every single other Windows program functions correctly -
The basic problem is that they have spec'd that Quicken would work on a certain resolution and above, and then proceeded to create a fixed size category list box that was bigger than would fit on the lower resolution screens they spec'd.
This problem was introduce a few years ago when the "revamped" the category list box with the searching and such.
The fix that they put in was to resize the category list based on the resolution.
It was put in Quicken 2017 and in a patch in the 2018 Release of Quicken, but there were some resolution/windows scaling settings that Quicken didn't guess right on the size, and therefore the "edge cases".
But I just tested with your settings and one that I know was working 1024x768 in 2018 R11.16 and both show the problem.
So, somewhere in some of their patches they have broken this again.
What I suggest Quicken Inc do is stop trying to be "fancy" and resizing the dialog (or this case failing to do it), and just make the dialog small enough to fit on their lowest spec'd resolution. It is a very simple fix, that won't "break" or have "edge cases".
There really isn't any reason that the category list box has to be that big.
Of course I recommended that fix for the years that it was broken, and that got ignored, so I doubt they will listen this time either.
Looking through the release notes I didn't find it, but here is a reference to a comment where it was fixed in 2017 and 2018.

Never had a problem on 2015 - then upgraded to Q2018 -
and didn't notice since I rarely add any new Category entries.....
until just recently - bam -
