Home Quicken for Windows Download, Add/Update Accounts (Windows)

after Importing a CSV file, all transactions are deposits even though there is a negative sign in

I'm on Deluxe 2019 for Mac Version 5.8.1 (Build 58.24597.100) I manipulated the CSV file downloaded from my bank and I can import it into Quicken but the transaction amounts are all deposits even if there is a negative sign in the csv file.

I'm not sure how you made it work, but CSV import is not supported (except for very specific Mint.com format). You should be downloading a QFX file from your bank for import to Quicken.

RickO, you're wrong on two counts. 1) CSV does import, even if "not supported." 2) None of my banks (credit cards) provide more than a month or two of QFX statements - but they supply years of .csv statements. It's not up to you or me to judge why someone might need this; it's up to Quicken to supply solutions.

BTW, this is an import issue, and I, for one, cannot find "import" help for Quicken Mac through Quicken's support search. Very odd.

It's actually up to Quicken to choose to supply solutions or not. I am not defending their choice but just stating the fact that at the moment they have chosen not to support CSV import for transactions except for import of security/stock prices.

You are always welcome to create an IDEA thread to request that feature support.

I just talked to IT at Chase, cannot help because don't allow older downloads.  Running into the problem with AE, downloading the past 12th and 13th month.  Only have CSV files.

Talked to IT with Quicken.  She said just go to Quicken Files/Import/csv.  It was "Quicken Support" and she didn't even know this was only for certain things in investment accounts, and not for transactions.  She could not suggest a reliable third party that could help to provide the conversion.    QUICKEN PROVIDES NO HELP OR SUPPORT IN THIS AREA.
