Migrating to a new PC

How do I migrate my licence from my old PC to a new PC?  I have purchased a new laptop and want to install Quicken on it and uninstall Quicken on the old one.  I want to ensure everything is migrated to new PC before deleting quicken on old PC.

    Be sure to include Win Or Mac.

    This post is categorized as "Quicken for Windows", so here goes ...

    Copy your Quicken data file(s) to the new computer.
    Now install Quicken on your new computer.
    Start Quicken. It should find the most recently used Quicken data file, open it and, based on information stored in the data file, re-register Quicken. If you are prompted for your Quicken ID, just use the same ID you used on the old computer.

    If you don't have an
    installation CD or you didn't save a copy of the downloaded installation file
    on your hard drive (in Windows typically in a "Downloads" folder) or,
    even better, on some external storage media (USB stick or external hard drive)

    Very good. Thank you for reporting back.

    Now that you're on the new computer, please be sure to review the settings for creating backups of your Quicken data file.
    IMHO, you should be creating both Automatic and Manual Backups every time you close Quicken.
    One can never have enough backups.
