The Spending Over Time report used to drill down to the transactions that made the amount on which I clicked.  It no longer does this.  Instead It Is opening a report with all transactions matching the time frame only.  Latest version of quicken being used

The Spending Over Time report is one of the old reports. To get the functionality you want, click on "New Report" and then Category Summary. Then when you drill down, you'll get the individual transactions for that period.

This functionality worked until recently and while Category Summary does get at the same data Is not similar, It Is really not the same thing because It does not have columns for each period summarized.

For example when looking across 12 periods, we can see a category Is roughly the same expect for one month where It Is much higher for example.  I was able to pick that odd number and drill so see a double payment for example.  In category summary, we would be looking at 13 lines, the 12 months and the double payment which Is harder to pick out especially when scanning the full year for all categories.

Is there another option to present this cross tab view that may be aware of?

If you click on category, you are offered an option for interval. Click on Month (or whatever you want) and it will give you a columnar report.

Awesome. Thank you.  Had not seen that.  I usually started with the stock reports and saved custom so did not see that option.

You're welcome. By the way, I hear that as the reporting gets improved, many of the old stock reports will be deleted and/or replaced.
