Reconciling out of date-order: Tips?

Due to missing statements, I had to reconcile 2018 out of order. We've now located the missing statements, and I'd like to 1) add these transactions, 2) remove prior adjustments due to not having all statements.
Tell me if this will (or at least should!) work: For 2018 period, I...
  1. Delete all adjustment entries in the account
  2. I change all reconciled status from reconciled to cleared
  3. I start again with Januay 2018 and reconcile all twelve statements
Am I thinking straight here?

That should work, just do the reconcile one month at at time, oldest to newest.

Oh, I forgot, make backups after each successful reconcile, that way if something goes wrong, you don't have to start over again at the beginning.
