The problem I am having is in a Report - Transaction Detail that for all split transactions, the memo field is blank even though the transaction's memo field is populated. In other words, the memo is displayed in the transaction report ONLY for non-split transactions. I would expect the memo field to be displayed for all of the transaction's split categories, e.g., a transaction split between two categories Clothing and Tax:Sales Tax but instead the memo field is NOT displayed (blank) for either category. I am using Quicken - Deluxe Year: 2019 Version R17.6 Build: 27.1.17.6 under Windows 10 Pro 64-bit OS. Upon further digging, I think I see what is happening - there are two memo fields. One for the transaction that is displayed for the account and another memo field for the splits. I remember that years ago one would get both the transaction memo and the memo for the splits. The memo field is a high information content field and thus is necessary to be displayed for the account display. The memo field for the splits is almost useless since it wouldn't be displayed when the account's transactions are displayed. I guess the question may come down to how do I get the memo field for the account transactions in the Reports when I am generating a report for tax purposes that requires the split category transactions, e.g. clothing isn't a tax deduction but Tax:Sales Tax is a deduction?
