"Transaction recorded but not appearing in view" error message

Sometimes when I try to schedule a transaction I get this error message.  How do I correct this?

The not being shown in the filtered view isn't so much an error, but an alert

You left out some specifics, but this usually comes about because you have setup a schedule for the scheduled transaction which falls too far into the future to be displayed in the register view. (By default, the register only shows the next 14 days of upcoming reminders. If the next reminder is for a month from now, you will get the filtered view warning.)

In QMac 2017 or newer, the easiest way (without tampering with your register settings) is to click on Bills and Income at the top of your register. Click on the "Projected Balances" button, and you will see all future instances of the reminder regardless of how far into the future they may lie.

If the future instance date is not correct, then you can double click the reminder and choose the third option to Edit the Series. Then, adjust the frequency as needed.
  • Thanks, but I don't want to go to Bills and income to see scheduled transactions.  I want them to show on the register. I have many scheduled that do show, and most are a month in the future, some are further.  So that can't be why I received the "alert".
  • OK thanks John.  One of my accounts was set to 14 days so by changing that I am able to see the transactions I was looking for.  I appreciate your help. Since I may need it in the future though, can you show me the "Clear filters" button.  This is what I have:

The "Clear Filters" button will only appear when you have a filters set. Here is a screenshot of when I set one:

As far as the "Projected Balances" view: yes, it is nice to see the scheduled transactions in the individual registers. But don't rule out the former view: it is a quick way to see all your scheduled transactions in a single spot.
  • To see the "Clear filters" button, change any of the filters from their default setting. The Clear filters button will then appear to the right of the Any Status filter.

PS: the three filters have default labels of: All Dates, Any Type, Any Status
