401K with Cash Accounts not linking

I have 20 different Retirement accounts some use a Linked Account for the cash portion. When entering transactions in the Investment Account such as a sale or buy, the corresponding transaction is not appearing, nor does the software allow me to even select the transfer account. It appears in the transaction window as greyed out and when you click OK it simply ignores the linked account. So your Investment account will show a different balance than your linked account. Fixing this is tedious as you often have to delete the transaction and create a new one.

What version, what year and what release of Quicken are you using?  (Help > About Quicken).
Is this how things have always worked for you, or is this new behavior?
If your release isn't up to date, have you tried updating?  That will sometime set things to right.
Have you tried File > File Operations > Copy... and then using the copied version of the file done File > File Operations > Validate and Repair... ?  The issue might be data corruption in your current file.
