investment income not entered in budget in Quicken for Mac
A budget is useless unless it includes all income. Investment income is not included, which may be fine if you don't live on it. Please add investment income to budgets.

PLEASE PUT THIS IN THE NEXT RELEASE
I apologize for any inconvenience. We've recently moved to this new Community platform and not all of the conversation data migrated with the correct categories or status's.
I've moved this post to the Product Ideas for Mac category and enabled the vote option. You should now see a blue box in the first post with an arrow to click on to add your vote.
I appreciate your bringing this post to our attention and again apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you,
Sarah
FYI: This has been asked about a few times...
Transactions in the brokerage with the type "Dividend Income" will display in the budget.
The category will need to be selected under the Budget > Edit Budget > Select Categories.
Transactions that are a Payment/Deposit that have a category can also be displayed in the budget.
Hope this helps!

(edited to remove inaccurate date)
I just tried this and do not see any Investment Category in Budget Categories.
I just checked and my version seems to be up to date:
Quicken Deluxe 2019
Version 5.11.2 (Build 511.25679.100)
Please advise.
Steve
Sorry, you are unable to find it.
I am currently running 5.12.0 and have this option.
I rolled back to the release that you are running and the option to include Investment categories is indeed missing. (edited to remove inaccuracy)
5.12.0 is currently in a staged release, meaning the update is sent out and then paused to review feedback on the update.
https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7858577/quicken-for-mac-v5-12-released/p1
There currently isn't an ETA when the update will be released to all, but Quicken Care can provide the 5.12 update if requested.

Thank you for reaching out to let me know that this option was missing.-Quicken Tyka
Without typing anything in search, if I scroll down to where "Investments" would appear in the list, there is no Investments category, as you can see here:
Now this is where things get interesting: Although I don't see this noted in the release notes, I believe this is something that is changed in the new 5.12 version. (@Steve Lewis this new version is currently in staged release, and you should be able to download it sometime this week unless there are reports of problems which the developers decide to pause and fix).
I repeated the same thing with a new, blank test file in version 5.12, and look at the list of categories, specifically what now shows up between "Home" and "Kids" in the list of available categories:
@Quicken_Tyka Can you double-check what version of Quicken you were using? And possibly confirm that this change was made, as it appears, in version 5.12. (And if so, perhaps ask @Quicken Marcus to add this to the release notes, which currently don't mention it?)
I also tested this in a brand new file to see what category options I received when creating a budget.
I am currently running the new release
These are the budget categories I see on this version.
(the edited inaccurate info)
Hope this helps!

As for the April note, I think that just reflects the date that someone at Quicken added that note to the post here on the forum. And it apparently hadn't actually happened at that time, despite what the note says. That note should probably be changed to reflect that it was changed as of the 5.12 release in August. And, as I mentioned, this change is not included int he 5.12 release notes, and probably should be.

As for accuracy, I'd just say the lesson reaffirmed here is that one can't treat the release notes, nor notes on this website, as being 100% precise and complete; using the actual program is the only way to verify what the program does and doesn't do.

BUG: There is a bug with Income / Personal Income / Rental Income ... Rental income is added to the Personal Income total even when it is not selected as a category and and not displayed in budget. I tried shutting the app down and restarted and it is still displayed.
