Fidelity NetBenefits - Error OL-295-A - might be VPN usage related

Message: Your financial institution has rejected this transaction. For more information, contact your financial institution. This started in the past week. I can use my credentials to manually log into the website and view data. Quicken is no longer able to connect. I also deactivated the account and receive the same information. Quicken is not able to communicate with Fidelity.

  • I reviewed and checked those steps before posting. Any other suggestions? Fidelity was closed when I tried to call them.

    As explained in Quicken's support document, you will need to contact the financial institution.  For what it's worth, I haven't had any issue with NetBenefits this past week.

  • I cleared out the data and receive the same I message starting over - it is a Fidelity issue. Now I need to find time during their business hours to find an answer.
  • I received the same error this morning when I tried to download transaction from Fidelity NetBenefits. Strange, my other Fidelity brokerage accounts download transactions fine

    Same here, worked perfectly for years. Now Brokerages works fine, yet NetBenefits gives me this error.

    It would be nice if Quicken would let me cut/paste the error message so I don't have to type it in manually when contacting Fidelity.

    I also am having the OL-295-A since. Not sure when it started but my last download from Fidelity Netbenefits was Sep 13 so sometime between then and the last couple days this started.

    I am running Q2019 R21.17 -
    and just did a One Step Update to Fidelity Investments and Fidelity NetBenefits...
    all is good - 6 accts - mutual funds, IRAs, 403b -

    My version of Q2017 Rental Property Manager was out of date so I got the lastest version. Fidelity downloads now work.

    Want to add that Roth and 529 Fidelity accounts work fine.

    Fidelity 401k however fail with OL-295-A

    I'd contact Customer Service at Fidelity NetBenefits.
    I've found that Fidelity Representatives are usually quite knowledgeable about Quicken and downloading.

  • Has anyone been able to contact Fidelity NetBenefits? By the time I get home the customer service line is closed.

    On Friday 9/20/2019 I spent about an hour in a chat session with Fidelity about this problem. Once they finally understood the problem, it seems they didn't have the information or knowledge to deal with the problem. I was told to call in by phone, which I did. That took another 40 minutes until they fully understood the problem and someone at Fidelity actually tried to connect with NetBenefits through Quicken and it failed. They said they initiated a trouble ticket and hoped to have it fixed quickly. Given they were apparently unaware of the problem for a full week, their system doesn't seem to detect and track login problems very well. Not sure what "quickly" will mean.

    I have been able to download through update just fine for years. Today it is saying it is refused by th e institution and to contact them. They cannot find anything wrong. Is anyone else having this issue? I have tried to readd the account and get the same issue.

    @jdxtr's reply of Sept 23.   Fidelity seems, according to jdxtr, to have acknowledged that the problem is theirs.

    R19.52, Build 27.1.19.52. NetBenefits update hasn't worked for weeks. Reported Problem to Quicken twice, but zero response or acknowledgement. Based on the above, I guess I'll try to contact Fidelity today.

    My "DirectConnect" download from Netbenefits worked this AM.

    It has been failing for a number of days.
