Renaming after File Validation

For the first time I actually copied and Validated my data file and I'm thrilled! However, my question (dilemma) is this: My old file was called "Name Financial Data.QDF" The file I have open now is called "Name Financial DataCpy.QDF" When I close my file this evening I'd like the old name back (without the Cpy.) Anybody know how to do this in a simple, easy way?

You can find your current (Cpy) file by going to File>Show this file on my computer. See image. You will likely also see your original file there too.What I do is rename the "original" data file to something such as Name Financial Data_OLD.QDF. Whatever you want it to be - some will append with the date. I move the renamed "_old" data file to my backup folder just in case there is any "strangeness" in my data after the copy operation.Then, rename the new data file (the one appended with "cpy") back to Name Financial Data.QDF - to restore your original naming convention.Finally, don't forget to navigate to your newly renamed "cpy" file (Name Financial Data.QDF) and open it with Quicken to ensure you are operating on the intended file!Very simple!

Coming late to this party ... but I'd STRONGLY suggest that you shorten your Q data file name so that there are 8 or fewer characters before the .QDF and ESPECIALLY that there be no spaces in those 8 characters.On multiple occasions, Q has been shown to misbehave with long file names and/or names containing spaces.
