    Is it safe to edit a scheduled transaction for a loan?

    I would like to add a tag to the principal and interest, as well as change the category for the principal (whilst keeping the transfer). I don't seem to be able to do that from the Edit Loan and Payment Terms dialog. And I fear that if I do this from the scheduled transaction, it will somehow mess up the loan. (I've been in this territory before.)

    Or is it safe to edit the scheduled transaction?

    No problem.
    I do exactly what you describe.
    I edit the transaction when it displays in my checking account register and change the category for principal.
    Rhe original scheduled transaction is not affected.
