How do I record a payment received on a lending loan?

I set up the loan account, but when I did a test deposit, nothing changed on the asset register.

One way to enter the loan payment received is to open the loan, press Ctrl + Shift + N and select Enter Loan Payment. Another way is to enter the loan's payment reminder (or memorized payee).5
