lost brokerage file needed from backup

In updating my brokerage files for the end of 2019, I found that one of them disappeared. I know I was playing around with starting to download the files from the brokerage rather than entering each detail myself, so maybe I erased my GOOD FILE along with the test files. Anyway, I need to restore it; it is not in the hidden files, but probably in my last backup. In restoring a previous backup, it says it will put it in the cloud as the current one. I only want to copy and paste the missing file into my current quicken. How do I do that? I made a lot of changes to other files today so I would not rather lose my work from today. What do I do?

Unless you are deliberately creating multiple FILES, there is only one Quicken data file. If you make changes to an account or multiple accounts, they are still contained in the same single data file. If you made changes that you want to reverse, the best way to accomplish is to restore from a backup. Restoring a file can overwrite the existing file and is the normal method. Backup and restore has nothing to do with a cloud service unless you are copying a backup to Dropbox.
