Run as administrator problem

Windows has broken the links between my desktop icons & the apps, so I cannot open Quicken with a click -- but I can right-click & run it as administrator. But I then get a message that Quicken does not support running in this mode & there could be problems. Changing the properties of the link to administrator status does allow running with a click but the same warning message appears. This is a Windows problem because the links to other apps have also been demolished. Anyone have ideas about a fix?

Did you change anything from a Windows point of view....
Windows User ID logon, or Windows Access settings, Anti-Virus, etc...
Also - this is a forum, so no need to post 2 duplicate messages.

Not that I am aware of. But Windows did appear to make some global changes, e.g. all the "most used" icons & apps disappeared and were replaced by a random mix. Similarly, some of the tiles that should have displayed apps or weather, etc, contained only what looked like lines of code.

Sorry about the dup. I wasn't sure the 1st had posted.

    Hello @Bill

Thank you for the response and for providing more info.

Do you have more than one user on this computer? Is it possible that you are signed in under a guest or a different admin?

    Please let me know!
