Your license is your one Quicken.com ID. This allows you to install on an unlimited number of computers, as each installation requires and uses the same Quicken ID and password.BTW, there is no online version...there is only the desktop application that also has a Quicken Mobile and Quicken Web companion "apps" for basic features, both of which still need the desktop app installed.

Quicken is designed to sync from one desktop file to multiple mobile devices but not between multiple desktop files (though Quicken did try to implement some form of this a while back but it seems to have been placed on the back burner).
If you are needed to sync files between computers, you will have to resort to come form of either moving the data file between computers or using some kind of remote access software.Have Questions? Help Guide for Quicken for Mac

Thank you! I assume though that it is not synced then between different computers? Thats my issue - I can get it to sync on my phone app but not on my laptop??0

On your laptop, you can use the Quick web interface, which is basically a web version of the mobile app. It's not a substitute for the full Quicken application, but if you just want to enter a transaction, check a transaction or a balance, it may suit you.
If you want the full Quicken experience on your laptop, it is possible to move your Quicken data file back and forth between your desktop and laptop. It's a little cumbersome to move the file around, and you have to be mindful of which computer has your most recent live file -- but it's manageable and many people do it.
