I have responsibility for my elderly father's accounts and I wanted to see if it is possible to set up a separate household (Accounts) for him and prevent having just one total value. Thanks

Yes you can have different separate data files. Each File will have its own accounts. Not sure on Mac but try going up to File-New Quicken File.
I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

On QMac, the menu is "File > New...". After creating the new file, you can switch between that one and your original file using menu File > Open Recent.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s5
