Quicken not working with BMO or PC Mastercard!!!

I just downloaded today, Quicken for Windows as I just got rid of my Mac where all worked fine. In windows I want a fresh install and fresh account files (no data transfer from Mac). I created a new checking, savings and Credit card accounts using the advanced options and selecting manual download.

Now at that bank websites I downloaded the quicken transaction files ( webconnect QFX files). BUT I cannot import any transactions as I get an error that "Quicken cannot verify the financial institution information"

So I called support and was told Quicken for Windows does not support BMO nor Presidents Choice Mastercard. It is only supported on the Mac side.

Needless to say I was very surprised that such a major bank was not supported and thought before I trash the software, I check here to be sure.

Note that the QFX files downloaded from the bank do work on my Mac which I am about trash as it is so old. So I know the files are not corrupted.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am running the latest release

ok found out the answer, you are correct it is a version issue. Quicken needs to update their website as well as BMO shows being supported with the mac version and is missing from the windows version - but the Canadian version does work with BMO. Thanks!!

I noticed that you are using Quicken for Windows US Edition.....
Since BMO and PC Card are canadian entities, should'nt you use Quicken for Windows CANADIAN edition ?

I have heard that but I am not sure there is even two different versions. How to tell? The site with my account where I download the software shows support Canada.

Quicken Mac and Windows support different financial institutions.  For the most part on Quicken Windows it is pretty much that each only supports their given country.  With the only exceptions being a few financial institutions that happen to be based in the other country.

On the Mac side for whatever reason when it was create (New Quicken Mac rewrite starting in 2007) had support for both and that continues to this day with the exception that some financial institutions have choose not to support it even if they support Quicken Windows (pretty rare).

As far as trying to determine this before you buy, well the marketing information is never been that complete.
(I'm using the latest Quicken subscription version)
