How do I turn off cloud synch. I do not want to use it at all.

After successfully using Quicken for over 20 years, One step update has now taken over and occasionally screws up my data. How can I turn it off completely?

Do you want Cloud Sync turned off or do you want OSU turned off?To turn off Cloud Sync: Edit > Preferences > Mobile & Web > Off.Note: Turning off Sync will only disable Mobile & Web services. It will not stop your Quicken program from syncing with your Cloud Account although the data saved in your Cloud Account going forward will be minimal and it will not include any financial data.If you want Quicken to stop syncing with your Cloud Account you will need to stop using all of Quicken's Online Services (including downloads via OSU and QFX/Quicken format manual downloads from your financial institutions) so you will need to manually enter all your accounts transactions and securities prices. The best thing to do to ensure this is to deactivate all of your accounts that you use with OSU and with manual QFX/Quicken format downloads from your financial institutions. You can deactivate your accounts from the Online Services tab of Account Details:You cannot run Quicken without having a Cloud Account. You can try to delete your Cloud Account but that process involves setting up a new Quicken data file which creates its own Cloud Account. And then when you start using your main data file, again, it will recreate your main data file Cloud Account so it's a futile effort. There will still be occasional syncing with the Cloud Account but I believe that is mostly for verification that you are using a legitimate licensed software and for completing software updates.

The one thing that hasn't been mentioned is the data on the aggregation servers used by Express Web Connect download connections.
See this article, https://www.quicken.com/support/how-quicken-connects-your-bank , about what happens in that process, this data is completely separate from the Quicken Cloud Account syncing used by QMobile/Q-Web.
If having that data stored on an aggregation server bothers you, don't make any EWC connections.
