Report generator can't separate Checking & Savings accts for subtotaling

I have accts IDed as Checking, Savings, etc. How can I get a sub-total break between the Checking and Savings accts? Now, they're reported as one group.

I am having a little difficulty understanding exactly what you are trying to do and apologize if I'm being dense here.
If you have setup your checking and savings accounts as separate accounts, they should appear separately under the general "type" of account of "Banking" accounts in the List of Accounts (usually on the left-hand column). In "Reports" > "Account Balances" - all bank accounts will be displayed in the "report and you can't subtotal b checking and/or savings in Quicken. You may, however, be able to export this report and then change the way is appears (I haven't tried this so I can't say whether this actually will work). But within the constraints of Quicken's reporting capabilities, I know of no way to accomplish the "sub-total break" you are seeking.

I'm disappointed that Quicken can't subtotal on such obvious break points in the data . I have exported the file to Excel but then have to add Sum lines to get what I want. It takes about 10 mins which I'd rather have Quicken do. Thanks for your answer. :>)0
