Import fail. Newbie error?

I imported my last three months transactions from my bank as a QIF. Worked perfectly, but all the descriptions were missing. So I tried again, importing a QFX. Again, successful, with descriptions! But now I had lots of duplicates. One with and without transaction description.
So, I deleted all the new transactions, and tried to import the QFX file again.
No import.
Did I screw this up by deleting the transactions?

I would restore a backup from before the import.

When importing a QFX, Quicken remembers transaction IDs. Then if those same transactions get imported a second time, Quicken ignores them as duplicates. (You originally had duplicates because you imported 2 different ways.)
If you are just beginning, the simplest path will be to create a new Quicken file and import the QFX into that. The new file will have no memory of the transactions you imported into the first file.
    File > New Quicken File...

Thank you both for the quick response. I chose to first restore from my last backup. Then did the import operation again, from the QFX file. All good!
