Stolen credit card--replaced same account with new number...but Quicken not seeing it

Oh, geesh. I hate it when a credit card is compromised. It happened again and it's the first time since I started using Quicken. I went to my credit card account in Quicken (a CITI card) and see the transactions for the "old" card number but I need to merge the account with the new card number. What should I do to make that happen? The account is the same and the balance just transferred over to the new card number but my download for Quicken isn't showing any of the "new" card number's activity. I'd like to have it all in one account, but just reflect the new number. Is that possible? (and I apologize for my wordiness...not quite sure how to express this!) Thanks!

@TDaleMagalia - Sorry to hear about the CC being compromised.  That's happened to me a few times and it is a bit of a pain but it is not difficult to address in Quicken.  The process I had posted earlier in error was for QWin.  I don't know a lot about QMac but I think it should be very similar.:  Deactivate your compromised CC account.  Then reactivate the account making sure what is downloaded is linked to your CC account in Quicken.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide you more details than that.  Mea culpa about not catching that your inquiry regards QMac.  Sorry.  If you need more assistance than this then someone who knows more about QMac will be able to provide it.

Dang.  I did it, again.  I really need to learn that at this time of night I need to get offline and get some sleep.  Thanks for catching it and letting us know.  Have a good night.

  • Thanks for the concept explained--but, as a Quicken beginner, does anyone have any Mac-specific instructions?

    Hello @TDaleMagalia

Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. I do apologize for the issue you're having. It sounds like what Boatnmaniac was recommending was to deactivate and reactivate the account so that it syncs with the new card. I'll leave instructions below on how to do so.

First thing I'll recommend is to save a backup to revert back to just in case. You can find how to do so down below.

    https://www.quicken.com/support/how-backup-or-restore-your-quicken-data

Next we'll try deactivating all of the accounts. You can do so by following the article listed down below.

    https://www.quicken.com/support/deactivate-online-banking-services-quicken-account

Once all the accounts are deactivated go ahead and follow the article here on reconnecting the accounts.

    https://www.quicken.com/support/reactivating-deactivated-account

Once you've connected the account you'll want to double check for any duplicate transactions and you may also get an opening balance starting with the new card as well that you'll want to delete. If you have any other questions please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Quicken Francisco
