will Quicken handle multiple smalll non-profit business for basic accounting including payrolls?

    Quicken can not calculate payroll, it could track what is paid out, if you enter all of the details.
    Since each file stands on its own and you can have as many different data files as your hard drive will hold, yes, Quicken can handle multiple small businesses.
