How do I terminate a repeating payment?

I tried to delete a repeating payment to our homeowner association because we are selling the property. It had already generated an April 1 payment, so I canceled that payment. But when I updated, it canceled that payment and added an April 30 payment. When I canceled that, it added a June 1 payment. I tried closing the program, rebooting, etc. between each of these cancellations, but it just continues. Einstein would frown on this. I currently show a payment for July 1. How do I stop this loop and cancel the payment?

    Sorry that you are having issues getting rid of that payment reminder.

    The problem is that you are only deleting the next payment, but the overall reminder will continue to appear until you delete the reminder itself.  To do that please review this guidance

    I deleted the reminder before attempting to cancel the check. Bills and Income no longer shows the payee, but every time I cancel the payment, it creates a new one for the following month.
