How to turn off quicken sync to cloud while troubleshooting

Reinstalltion and need to keep reloading. turn off sync until done

    If you wish to turn off syncing to the Quicken Cloud, then please follow the steps below to turn off Cloud Sync.
    1. Navigate to Edit
    2. Preferences...
    3. Mobile & Web
    4. Change sync to OFF

    While some may see value in being able to access their financial data when away from their home PC, many others (including myself) see this 'feature' as more of a 'bug'. Quicken 'used to be' rock-solid and one-step update generally worked flawlessly. During 2020 and early 2021, I have had numerous cases of the online account updating 'breaking' and failing to update my account transactions. When you have long banking history, one gets disturbed at the thought that your accounting software, which you pay for annually, is something far less robust than one might have hoped. One also prays that Quicken team will break this 'cloud' feature away from the primary product, and require users to 'deliberately and purposefully' opt-in for the cloud/web/mobile 'features' - as in my mind they represent a security risk.

    I have sync turned off but every now and then I get a message that it is syncing.

    Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community, however, since this is an older post that was originally created back in March, it is less likely to receive an answer now.

    I would suggest creating a new post for better visibility and to potentially receive responses from other users who may currently be experiencing the same problem. Doing so will also assist us with better tracking ability in the event that this issue may result in an escalation being required.

    Please be sure to include a detailed description of the issue, any error messages (if applicable) as well as the version of Quicken you have currently running (Help > About Quicken). The more information you are able to provide will help the Community to better understand and assist.
